
Just a short walk from Sonora lodging and Main Street, the Eaton Hill Nature Center & Preserve combines the beauty of nature with the allure of the area’s rugged terrain featuring replica Native American culture, hiking trails, bird watching and fossil displays. Visit a replica Indian village, out-law hangouts, ranching exhibits, and learn about local wildlife and plant life. Trails are open each day from dawn to dusk and are accessible via three trail-heads. Maps are available at the Nature Center, open Fri-Tue 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. (closed Wed and Thur).

From IH 10 or north US 277: Take underpass into Sonora, turn left on Water Ave, first trailhead is on left at the base of Eaton Hill, other two trailheads at east Mulberry and east Oak; from Mulberry take City Hill Rd and drive up hill to Nature Center. From south US 277 or Crockett Ave: Turn east at Main Street, turn left at Water Ave.
