Western Frontier Days, May 20-21, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., at Fort Lancaster State Historic Site near Sheffield TX. Fort Lancaster comes alive with soldiers, pioneers, chuck wagons, livestock, camels, a stagecoach, and much more. Learn about life at this historic military fort with a variety of living history stations and experience a typical day on the Texas frontier. Located near Sheffield, Fort Lancaster is a historic military fort built in 1855 to protect the San Antonio to El Paso Road.
