Comstock: Upper Canyon Guided Hike

Upper Canyon Guided Hike, Apr. 10, at Seminole Canyon State Park & Historic Site near Comstock TX. Back-country, two mile and up to four hours hike into the upper area of Seminole Canyon and includes visits to prehistoric rock art sites, historical railroad sites, and the U.S. Army's Detachment of the Black Seminole Indian Scout campsite. Participants must be able to clamber and climb over uneven rough terrain and through dense vegetation. Meet at Headquarters Building (museum) to leave promptly at 8:15 a.m. Limited to 25 intermediate hikers, minimum of four. Reservations are required and taken 30 days before and ends the Wednesday before the tour date. Call (432) 292-4464, only sigh up family members. Participants under the age of 18 accompanied by adult. Not recommended for small children (no strollers). Tour fee: $12.00 per person, cash or check (payable to Rock Art Foundation) and park entry fee: $3.00 per person. No pets, guns, drugs/alcohol allowed.
