Comstock: Upper Canyon Guided Hike

Upper Canyon Guided Hike, March 13 & 20, 8 a.m. - noon, at Seminole Canyon State Park & Historic Site near Comstock TX. Back-country, two-mile, four-hour hike into the upper area of Seminole Canyon that includes visits to prehistoric rock art sites, historical railroad sites, and the U.S. Army's Detachment of the Black Seminole Indian Scout campsite. Meet at Park Headquarters Building/museum. Tour leaves promptly at 8:15 a.m. Tour fee of $12:00 cash or check (payable to Rock Art Foundation), plus park entry fee of $3.00 per person. Reservations required and begins 30 days before and ends on the Wednesday before the tour departure date. Call the park at (432) 292-4464. Participants must be able to hike, clamber and climb over large boulders, rough uneven ground and dense vegetation. Please only sign up family members. Not suitable for young children (no strollers). Tours are subject to cancellation due to weather conditions. It is recommended to call the park prior to your trip to conform tour. No pets, guns, drugs/alcohol allowed.
