Comstock: Upper Canyon Guided Hike

Upper Canyon Guide Half-Day Hike, Feb. 7, 8 a.m. - noon, at Seminole Canyon State Park & Historic Site near Comstock TX. Back-country, two-mile and up to four hours hike in the upper Seminole Canyon. This hike includes visits to prehistoric rock art sites, historical railroad sites, and the U.S. Army's Detachment of Black Seminole Indian Scout campsite. Participants must clamber and climb over uneven rough terrain and dense vegetation. Tour leaves promptly at 8:15 a.m. from park headquarters building. Limited to 25 intermediate hikers, minimum of four. Tour fee of $12.00 per person, cash or check (payable to Rock Art Foundation) plus park entry fee of $3.00 per person. Reservation required and begins 30 days before and ends the Wednesday before the tour date. Call (432) 292-4464, only sign up family members. Not suitable for young children (no strollers), under age 18 must be accompanied with adult. No pets, guns, drugs/alcohol allowed.
