Comstock: Upper Canyon Guided Hike

Upper Canyon Guided Hike, Dec. 13, 8:30 a.m. - 12 noon, at Seminole Canyon State Park & Historic Site, near Comstock TX. Back-country, two-mile and up to a four hour hike into the upper area of Seminole canyon. This hike includes visits to prehistoric rock art sites, historical railroad sites, and the U.S. Army's Detachment of the Seminole Negro Indian Scout campsite. Participants must be able to hike, clamber and climb over loose materials, rough uneven ground and dense vegetation. Meet at Park Headquarters Building at 8:15 am. Tour fee of $12.00 per person cash or check-make payable to Rock Art Foundation and park entry fee of $3.00 per person Limited to 25 experienced hikes, minimum of 5. Reservations required (and for more information), call (432) 292-4464, taken 30 days in advance and ends on the Wednesday before the tour date departure. Please only sign up your family members. Not suitable for small children (no strollers). Participants bring their own water, lunch/snacks and gear. No pets, guns, or drugs/alcohol allowed. Tours are subject to cancellation due to weather conditions. It is recommended to call the park prior to your trip to conform tour.
