Comstock: Presa Canyon Guided Hike

Presa Canyon Guided Hike, March 12 & 19, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., at Seminole Canyon State Park & Historic Site near Comstock TX. Back-country guided hike to secluded areas of the park's canyons, where visitor can view several rock art sites with a variety of prehistoric rock art styles. It is seven miles and up to eight hours hike, so the participant must be able to hike, clamber and climb over loose material, large boulders, rough uneven ground and through dense vegetation to traverse this canyon. Participant must provide their own water, lunch/snacks and gear. Meet at Park Headquarters Building (museum). Tour leaves promptly at 8:15 a.m. Limited to 25 experienced hikers, minimum of four. Reservations required and taken 30 days before and ends the Wednesday before the tour date. Call: (432) 292-4464, please only sign up family members. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by adult. Not recommended for small children. Tour fee of $25.00 per person, cash or check (payable-Rock Art Foundation), plus park entry fee of $3.00 per person. No pets, strollers, guns, alcohol/drugs allowed.
