Comstock: Presa Canyon Guided Hike

Presa Canyon Guided Hike, Feb. 6, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., at Seminole Canyon State Park near Comstock TX. Back-country hike to secluded areas of the park's canyons, including several rock art sites with a variety of prehistoric rock art styles. It is a seven-mile, up to an eight hour hike and the participant must be able to hike, clamber and climb over loose material, large boulders, rough uneven ground and through dense vegetation to traverse this canyon. Participants must provide their own water, lunch/snacks and gear. Tour leaves promptly at 8:15 a.m. from park headquarters building. Limited to 25 experienced hikers, minimum of four. Reservations required and are taken 30 days before and ends the Wednesday before the tour date. Call (432) 292-4464 and please only sign up family members. Participants under the age 18 must be accompanied by adult. Not recommended for small children. Tour fee of $25.00 per person, cash or check (payable to Rock Art Foundation) and park entry fee of $3.00 per person. No pets, strollers, guns,alcohol allowed.
